Background

The current COVID-19 outbreak and the measures imposed, including the movement control order has changed the landscape of how business is done, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises. AirAsia is responding towards this situation by opening up its ecosystem and making its resources available to all local businesses, starting with those in Peninsular Malaysia.

S.O.S  Campaign

Save Our Shops (S.O.S) is a campaign to help as many local businesses as possible, and AirAsia is making available the below resources:

  1. OURSHOP, the e-commerce platform of AirAsia will be hosted on the website airasia.com, which receives significant traffic.

  2. Products sold through OURSHOP will be delivered via Teleport, the logistics arm of AirAsia

This campaign will enable merchants to sign up at ZERO COMMISSION & ZERO LISTING FEE to market their products on OURSHOP, for the whole month of April. However, these shops will be required to cover the banking transaction charges of 2% for each sale made.

Local businesses who are interested to be a merchant can sign up at www.ourshop.com/seller.

  1. Why is AirAsia doing this?

    A lot of small businesses are being hit hard due to the outbreak. So AirAsia would like to do our part in helping as many local businesses as possible in this time of need. We have the right platform and infrastructure, and in this travel down-time, what better way to put our resources to good use than by lending a helping hand to those who need it.

    We also understand that the current market is inundated with requests for online purchases and delivery services. And OURSHOP and Teleport is a solution towards this problem. Market your products on OURSHOP, reach more people and Teleport, being a relatively new player in the delivery business will help narrow the gap of limited delivery services in this current situation.

  2. What is the benefit for local businesses to sign up with OURSHOP through S.O.S campaign? 

    We are now offering ZERO COMMISSION for merchants who market their products on OURSHOP. We will be doing this for the entire month of April to help them get back on their feet.

  3. What do merchants get in return?

    Apart from zero commission, merchants will be able to leverage on airasia.com’s significant traffic. Merchants will also be able to benefit from OURSHOP’s e-commerce expertise and Teleport’s logistics infrastructure.

  4. What products can be listed?

There is a wide product range, from groceries, daily essentials, food & beverage to beauty products as well as household items. We welcome all businesses who need a platform to sell.
