JAKARTA, 24 January – Indonesian President Joko Widodo instructs the higher echelons of Defense Ministry to further strengthen it’s military strategy by a better expenditure.
Jokowi told this at a event in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Defense Ministry on Thursday.
Yesterday, I had a discussion with Pak Menhan on how to improve our defense industry and seriously develop it to a higher level.
For the 2020 expenditure, the defense ministry receives around 127 trillion rupiah. He hopes the expenditure will be used wisely without any misappropriation.
“I hope Pak Menhan will efficiently utilize the budget and strengthen the defense industry,” pointed Jokowi.
Meanwhile Jokowi also urged the Indonesian Military to expand it’s technological capabilities.
One of the suggestions is to use unmanned fighter jets or drones.
According to Jokowi, the technology is changing rapidly. Now we even can see how drones used to attack tanks, military vehicles.
